At the request of Ikota Educational  Foundation, the Prelature of Opus Dei, an institution of the Catholic Church, appoints spiritual directors forWhitesandsSchool. Opus Dei is thus entrusted with the spiritual and moral formation given in the School. Opus Dei does not however assume responsibility for the School.

Other local projects with similar links with Opus Dei include the Lagos Business School

( LBS ) of the Pan African University, and The Lagoon School. The Helmbridge and Southcreek boys' clubs also receive formation from  members of Opus Dei.
