The advisory programme is an integral part of Whitesands School educational mission.
              
Each student is assigned an Advisor from among the staff with whom he will regularly discuss personal and academic problems and progress. The ultimate objective or goal of the Advisory programme is to help the student reach his potential in academic and character development.

The Advisor assists the student to form concrete resolutions in areas in which improvement is needed. In this role, Advisors strive to help parents in the upbringing of their sons. It is therefore important that parents should contact their son's Advisor to discuss ways in which the Advisor can help their  son develop.

Advisory meetings with students take place once every two weeks, and with parents at least once every term. Both parents are expected to attend each advisory meeting. A student may be excused from class to meet with his Advisor.
