Whitesands School is administered by a Management Council appointed by the Board of Governors. Members of the Council are all staff of the School. The Management Council is led and headed by the School's Principal who is the Chief Executive and Accounting Officer of the School. Other members of the Council include the Deputy Principal, the Vice Principal (Junior School), the Vice Principal (Senior School) and the Head of Administration.
The major functions of the Management Council as approved by the Board of Governors include the following responsibilities:

* Directs, promotes and administers the day-to-day operations of the School;
* Maintains official relations with governmental agencies, academic and formative    organizations;
* Formulates short and medium term objectives for the School; 
* Suggests to the Board of Governors, issues on status improvement;
* Gathers notes of experience and submits annually to the Board of Governors on academic, formative and  operative aspects of the School;
* Administers the organizational structure of the School;
* Performs all aspects of  Personnel functions and welfare for the staff;
* Manages the finances of the School through proper budgeting, collection of fees and other school charges, and through prudent implementation of the budget ;
* Maintains the school  buildings and manages its moveable assets and property;
* Administers the academic programmes of the School, sets minimum standards and
carries out appropriate assessments of the programme                                                                                                                      
* Maintains and fosters discipline in  the School;
* Admits and dismisses students following approved criteria.

It is important to emphasize that  the Management Council will collaborate with parents, consider their suggestions and advice and, when necessary, accept and implement them, for the benefit of the School. However, it has to be clearly understood that the management and day-to-day administration of the School is the responsibility of the School's Management Council.
