Facilities & Installations

The school is divided into two sections: the Junior School and the Senior School. Each section is accommodated in a dedicated building block that includes classrooms, laboratories, studios, computer facilities, and staff offices, all of which are fully air-conditioned.  These buildings have been thoughtfully designed, providing spacious corridors and an abundance of staircases that surpass safety standards. Moreover, the roofs have been specially designed to offer insulation against both heat from the sun and the noise generated by raindrops.

In addition to the traditional deep green chalkboard, all Whitesands classrooms, laboratories, and studios are equipped with a dedicated projector and white screen. They are purposely designed to have sufficient natural light and ventilation so that one can read and be comfortable inside until dusk.

The school boasts a library with an extensive collection of over 2,000 volumes. There are four science laboratories specialising in chemistry, physics, biology, and the basic sciences. Furthermore, there are two computer laboratories, one for each school division.

The school chapel, with a seating capacity of 300 students, features a gallery for the choir and two dedicated confessionals. The stained glass windows have added a sense of solemnity to the chapel’s atmosphere.

For sports enthusiasts, the school offers a natural grass soccer field measuring 97 x 56 meters, along with a sandy 7-a-side football field. Additionally, there is a covered sports court capable of hosting two simultaneous games of basketball, volleyball, or tennis. It can also serve as an assembly area for large gatherings.

The main dining room can comfortably accommodate 180 people during a shift, providing daily lunches for over 750 students and staff. The school has recently upgraded its kitchen to meet the highest standards in Lagos, complete with state-of-the-art equipment operated by the skilled personnel from Wavecrest College of Hospitality.

Furthermore, the school features a penthouse on the 3rd floor of the Senior School Building, which serves as a pleasant location for board meetings and a relaxing space for staff to unwind after a busy day of work.
